Pickens is boom-bust WR28 on WR18 usage; Cowboys may explore trade options.

Pickens had his second-lowest usage of the season last week despite an easy matchup with Arizona that went to overtime, playing only 10 of 28 snaps with more than one TE on the field, allowing Ryan Flournoy to score a red-zone touchdown in a 3-TE set. These marginal snaps will prevent Pickens from reaching top-15 status while CeeDee Lamb is healthy; he must win difficult assignments as the static X receiver in 3-WR sets. Dak Prescott is talented enough for spike weeks, but consistency will be painful. Pickens is the WR28 on WR18 usage this season and is firmly a boom-bust WR2. The Cowboys may listen to trade offers for his expiring contract now that they trust Flournoy. He will likely battle Sauce Gardner on the boundary, but the rest of the Colts defense is overmatched; Indianapolis has a 28.75-point team total (second). Projected for 62.5 receiving yards at IND in Week 9.
