Williams competing for Rams punt returner role; job is fair-catch only with no upside.

Sean McVay named Kyren Williams as a leader in the clubhouse to win the Rams' punt returner job for the rest of the season. The role carries no upside and only downside risk (fumbles/muffs); McVay's expectation is that Williams will simply fair catch punts. Williams has six career NFL punt returns averaging 6.6 yards per return and 14 punt returns in his final year at Notre Dame. McVay is not concerned about Williams' health on punt returns; the job is purely about avoiding mistakes, not generating yardage.
