The Falcoholic on Michael Penix Jr.
From the article
his recovery from his November ACL injury is progressing nicely, but it still could be a month until he's fully medically cleared. If all goes well, Penix noted, it could be a little sooner.
STACKED’s take
Penix's full medical clearance could take four more weeks; limited to throwing only.
Penix's recovery from his November ACL injury is progressing nicely, but full medical clearance could still be approximately four weeks away (around August 29), though the timeline is not firm and could happen sooner depending on how his body responds. Doctors have told him he's ahead of where they expected him to be at this point. He is currently limited to throwing and building rapport with receivers during training camp but has not been fully medically cleared for full team work and will almost certainly not appear in preseason action. This is his third ACL reconstruction, and the Falcons are not rushing his return. If all goes well, he will be healthy enough to enter the season as the team's backup.
