The rookie Penn State quarterback had the two best throws of any quarterback during team drills on Day One of training camp, including a seam shot to Max Hurleman in seven-on-sevens and a touchdown pass down the middle to Robert Tonyan from 15 yards out. While he had a few throws he would have liked back—including a check-down interception tipped by Cole Holcomb and a nearly-picked sideline corner route—the source notes it was admirable seeing him take chances when others would throw safe check-downs, though more precision on tight-window throws would be ideal.
