From the episode

Patrick Mahomes just in the fact that his ADP has dropped every year for the last three years. He had the torn ACL and LCL, not placed on the pup, not going to see the rushing production from last year. Because last year so much of his fantasy production came from the running game.

Mahomes' ninth-round cost reflects lost rushing upside; passing numbers insufficient for QB1 value.

Mahomes' ADP has dropped every year for three years, falling from fifth round in 2025 to third round in 2024 to ninth round now. He suffered a torn ACL and LCL and will not see the rushing production from last year, which was critical to his fantasy value. Last year, much of his fantasy production came from rushing (he was on pace for over 500 rushing yards), not passing. His passing numbers average only 256 yards and 1.6 passing touchdowns per game. Without the rushing upside and with Kenneth Walker providing a running game, the source does not love his upside and doesn't think he'll be in the top 12 at the position.
