I'm still totally on the DeAndre Hopkins train. I did not see anything last year that dissuaded me from thinking the guy still can't... he's excellent in the slot. That's probably best where his best possible fit... he can still win at the catch point against tight coverage... to be able to put him in that third role where they hoped Jermaine Burton, Charlie Jones, Andre Iosivas would possibly be assets at one point. Right. I think Hopkins there would be absolutely magical.

Still dominant in slot; excellent fit as third receiver in Cincinnati.
Matt Waldman is 'totally on the DeAndre Hopkins train' and says he saw nothing last year to dissuade him from thinking Hopkins can still play. Hopkins looked like his usual dominant self early in the season and is excellent in the slot, which is his best possible fit. Waldman argues Hopkins can still win at the catch point against tight coverage and operate against zone coverage. Placing him in Cincinnati's third receiver role would be 'absolutely magical,' as the slot role is ideal because getting separation on the outside might be tougher for him than before.
