Ricky Pearsall, a former first-rounder, oh by the way, uh playing flanker slot... I like them getting two guys who I think can live in that intermediate area in Evans and Stribling allowing Pearsall to move around... especially Ricky Pearsall, who I still love Ricky Pearsall long-term as long as he can stay healthy.

Role improvement with Evans and Stribling handling intermediate area.
Matt Harmon notes that Ricky Pearsall, a former first-rounder, will play flanker/slot for the 49ers in 2024. Pearsall had to play on-ball (vertical receiver) last year because Brandon Aiyuk never came back to the team. With the addition of Mike Evans and De'Shawn Stribling, Harmon likes that Pearsall can move around more and play less on-ball, as both Evans and Stribling can live in the intermediate area. This represents a role improvement for Pearsall, allowing him to operate in positions better suited to his skill set. Harmon expresses long-term optimism for Pearsall as part of the 49ers receiving room, with the caveat that he remains healthy.
