Deshaun Stripling, will he be drafted early as a projection pick?... he's got the height, he's got the speed, he's a good blocker... he's ranked lower by me because it's not guaranteed... he does often times look like he's playing in cement... I just don't think his game is as refined as it needs to be to warrant like a second or third round pick... I would probably be more comfortable with fourth or fifth round with him.

Waldman: Stripling lacks refinement; prefer 4th-5th round over 2nd-3rd.

Matt Waldman projects Deshaun Stripling as a likely early draft pick due to height, speed, and blocking ability, but ranks him lower than draft consensus because his game lacks refinement for a second or third-round selection. Waldman notes Stripling has decent hands and moments of strong after-the-catch production, but often looks like he's playing in cement despite athletic ability; processing speed and footwork technique gaps are limiting factors. Waldman expects Stripling to develop into a strong player in 2-3 years and would be comfortable with a fourth or fifth-round pick, but would view a second-round selection as a surprise and a mistake.
