Hyatt's elite speed and field-stretching ability remain underutilized; route-running refinement needed.

Hyatt, the Giants' third-round pick in 2023, has almost completely failed to live up to expectations despite displaying elite speed. In his rookie season, he caught 23 of 40 targets for 373 yards (57.5% catch rate) with 4 drops and 16.2 yards per catch on 557 offensive snaps. He was often used as a 'sacrificial receiver' tasked with vertical routes to threaten the defense but never in the read progression. However, his ability to stretch the field adds a dynamic element the Giants desperately missed. The combination of Hyatt and Darius Slayton gives the Giants two speed-options to maximize two-man route concepts off play action. At 22 years old, Hyatt is still growing as a route runner; his nuances of uncovering against zone and being on the same page with the quarterback can improve. His 14.8% drop rate is not ideal but his ability to track, concentrate, adjust, and secure popped on tape. He mostly ran go routes and hitches with a top timed speed of 21.4 mph and seven explosive plays. He aligned on the outside 88.3% of the time, 48% on the left side.
