Bleeding Green Nation on Makai Lemon

Lemon getting first-team reps but separation concerns persist in early camp.

Lemon has been working with the first-team offense and the Eagles seem committed to finding ways to get him the ball, despite missing minicamp. He was targeted more in practice on Day 3 but struggled with separation downfield—facing predraft concerns about his ability to get separation that remain unanswered. He showed confidence on underneath routes and slot work, though he was blanketed by Cooper DeJean on a deep ball and had a pass sail out of reach on another deep route out of the slot. Lemon is a work in progress with the skills to be a good slot receiver right away, but faces challenges adjusting to a new scheme against an established defense.
