Yahoo Sports NFL on Travis Kelce

Kelce's 2023 decline marked end of elite Chiefs passing-game era.

Travis Kelce was arguably the best pass-catching tight end in football history and a cornerstone of the Chiefs' dominant 2018-2022 offensive identity, built around him alongside Patrick Mahomes and Tyreek Hill. However, Kelce started to decline in 2023, which took the offense from the best in the league to closer to league average. The source identifies this decline as a key factor in the Chiefs' shift away from an elite passing-game identity.
