STACKED’s take
Cook positioned for increased pass-game usage under new coordinator Carmichael.
Cook is a Round 1 selection coming off a career-high 309 carries and a rushing title, but his pass game usage has been limited. Alaina Getzenburg of ESPN highlighted that Buffalo's running back room has been noticeably more involved in the passing game in camp, matching earlier reports about Buffalo wanting to get Cook more targets. Cook ran just 44% of routes last year (23rd among RBs) and ranked 28th at the position in target share (8%). The Bills ranked 20th in RB screen passes, something that could change in 2026 under new offensive coordinator Pete Carmichael, who spent much of his career alongside Sean Payton in New Orleans, where running backs were very involved as pass-catchers.
