Taylor was special in 2026 and will continue to get the bulk of carries, but he is headed for his third contract and RB longevity is scarce. Per Jaylahn Tuimoloau, the Colts would be wise to manage some of Taylor's carries to ensure his availability when it matters. Additionally, Taylor regressed as the season wore on in pass protection, and teams like the Chiefs and Steelers set the blueprint for exploiting that weakness. The emergence of a backup RB would make it easier to reduce Taylor's snap count.
