NFL - The Athletic on Matthew Stafford

Stafford's 46 TDs led league; intelligence matches elite arm talent.

Stafford threw 46 touchdown passes last season, 12 more than any other quarterback. A former head coach praised his arm talent as special but emphasized that his football intelligence in picking up things and understanding how to attack defenses matches his physical talent, which is not always the case with talented quarterbacks.
