Simpson was drafted by the Rams at No. 13 overall, an unpopular move since he wasn't considered a top-13 prospect and the Rams were focused on winning immediately. However, the Rams justified the pick by saying it allowed them to trade future picks for Myles Garrett without worrying about finding Matthew Stafford's eventual successor. Simpson shouldn't see the field this season if all goes according to plan.
