Aaron Jones fantasy football insight from Hayden Winks - PPR Rankings

The age cliff is here. Jones is 31 years old, isn't massively built, and has an injury history. He's also in the final year of his deal with a younger, bigger complement next to him. If Jones went to near zero this year, nobody should be surprised. That said, the most likely scenario is a 1-2 punch with clear roles. Jordan Mason handles more of the short-yardage situations, while Jones plays on passing downs in HC Kevin O'Connell's very pass-first offense. From 2022-2024 with solid enough QB play, the Vikings were 4th in pass yards and 26th in rush yards per game on a top-5 neutral pass rate. Over the past two years with the Vikings, Jones has been the RB29 on RB19 usage in half PPR. He was far better in 2024 with Sam Darnold (RB20) than in 2025 with McCarthy/Wentz (RB35), and this upcoming season has the Vikings parked between the two. There's simply not much of a ceiling to chase in this offense with this defined depth chart. It's certainly possible to have a slight win on a RB39 Underdog ADP, if not even likely. It's just unlikely to last for a full season or to be the reason you're winning leagues. Jones has been held to under 5 rushing TDs in 5-straight seasons, and last year's 4.2 YPC was a career low by 0.3. It's best to look elsewhere. Jones is a fade in all formats, especially in redraft where his name brand carries more weight than his projections.
