Allen is being protected from injury risk during exhibition games by absorbing fewer high-risk reps; the Commanders are instead using Reynolds on early-down work and pass-blocking snaps to preserve Allen's health while still providing him adequate offensive snaps and touches. Allen will focus on running scripts designed to showcase his vision, power, and explosiveness, giving the front office clean evaluation film without over-exposing him to injury risk or the risk of being claimed off waivers if moved to the practice squad.
