Calvin Austin out for season with ACL tear; was expected to be Giants' slot receiver.

Calvin Austin tore his ACL in his right knee during Tuesday's training camp practice and was carted off the field; the Giants placed him on injured reserve Thursday, ending his season. Austin signed a one-year deal with the Giants in the offseason after four seasons with the Steelers, where he totaled 31 catches for 372 yards and three touchdowns last season. He was expected to have a big role as the slot receiver for the Giants.
