Likely enters the prime of his career with a new team, though his connection with Harbaugh remains. He signed a 3-year, $40M contract to be the receiving TE next to blocking-TE Theo Johnson. It's a similar role to the one he had next to Mark Andrews. That role provided zero weekly floor and the occasional spike week. That trend should continue here when Malik Nabers is back to hogging targets, but Nabers had a setback in his recovery and is now projected to miss September. That gives him his best projections early on. His case to be the punt TE in redraft checks out, especially if you're targeting the TE1s who are expected to be limited off their own injury (George Kittle, Tucker Kraft, etc.). Likely has a history of highly-efficient plays, too, though that comes with the territory of playing with Lamar Jackson. Likely's 8.3 yards per target is 6th best at the position, while 0.36 EPA per target is 10th since 2022. On tape, Likely is really good in the scramble drill when his pure speed is difficult to keep up with. That is an area that Jaxson Dart is already great in, so it's easy to see this fit in the offense. He'll lose some blocking snaps to Theo Johnson, but it won't be a surprise to see the Giants majoring in 2-TE sets this year given their roster.
