I've seen enough from Bernard – he absolutely should be the starting slot receiver. The Alabama product has shown more this preseason than Roman Wilson has going on three seasons.

Bernard's preseason (5 rec, 64 yards, TD) earns him the starting slot receiver role.

Bernard should be the starting slot receiver and WR3 on the depth chart. He finished his preseason with five catches for 64 yards and a touchdown. Both of his touchdowns came on screen passes (one for 13 yards after making the first tackler miss, another where he made several defenders miss on the right sideline for 25 yards in Week 1 against the Packers). The source states Bernard has shown more this preseason than Roman Wilson has in three seasons, and that Wilson's camp performance means nothing when he does nothing in games. Bernard showcased exactly why the Steelers traded up to get him.
