Yahoo Sports NFL on Jaxson Dart

Dart sits out preseason finale; starters idle 29 days before season opener.

Jaxson Dart will not play in the Giants' preseason Week 3 finale against the Jets on Friday night. Dart and other Giants starters will go without game action for nearly a month—from Aug. 15 to Sept. 13—leading up to the season-opener against the Dallas Cowboys on Sept. 13. Head coach John Harbaugh weighed the lack of live game reps as a major factor in the decision, though he also considered the potential benefit of a drive or two of action.
