Dennis Sosic identifies De'Zhaun Stribling as a favorite deep sleeper whose draft cost is far too low for his potential role; the 49ers took him 33rd overall and he's already made an impression with 11 catches for 109 yards through two preseason games. The depth chart in front of him is shaky, leaving Stribling as one of the few healthy, explosive options in a scheme that's made role players into fantasy weapons for years; he has the size, speed, and hands to become a real weapon for Brock Purdy yet is still being priced like a rotational piece outside the top 50. Derek Brown adds that Stribling offers a varied skill set with 2.15 and 2.44 yards per route run and 7.3 and 6.7 yards after the catch per reception (17 missed tackles forced) across his final two collegiate seasons; with Christian Kirk dealing with a calf injury and Ricky Pearsall out for the season, Stribling could operate as the team's WR1 if injuries strike. Jay Henry Ocho ranks Stribling around WR37 while consensus remains much lower; after catching 7 of 8 targets for 63 yards in his preseason debut and 4 of 5 targets for 46 yards against the Chargers (with 3 of 4 catches moving the chains), Stribling shows San Francisco already trusts him in useful situations. At this inexpensive price, Ocho prefers Stribling over KC Concepcion because Brock Purdy is the tiebreaker—the rookie attached to the QB and passing environment he trusts more.
