both the 49ers and the Cardinals have opted to use him as a kickoff return option. His output was still limited — one return each in preseason and regular season for 17 and 22 yards, respectively — but it shows that teams see something to build on.

Kiner could compete for Patriots' kickoff return duties despite limited special teams history.

Kiner has limited special teams experience but both the 49ers and Cardinals have used him as a kickoff return option, with one preseason return for 17 yards and one regular season return for 22 yards. The Patriots lack a clear No. 1 kickoff returner after trying Lan Larison, Hassan Haskins, and Kyle Williams, so Kiner's presence may shake up that group.
