The Denver Broncos released veteran running back Jaleel McLaughlin after he saw his contributions drop sharply over the last season. Despite accumulating 226 carries for 1,093 yards and 3 touchdowns on the ground plus 59 receptions for 263 yards and 4 touchdowns in his career since entering as an undrafted free agent in 2023, McLaughlin is now a guy with great straight-line speed but little to offer elsewhere in a running back room that is getting crowded. The drop-off in production coincided with the addition of RJ Harvey, who is bigger, more physical, and proved reliable even as a rookie.
