Anthony Richardson is certainly getting better at making layups look more like layups...his drops this preseason have much more tempo to them instead of the twitchy, explosive and erratic drops early in his career.

STACKED’s take

Positive signalProjection

Richardson shows tangible improvement in mechanics, decision-making, and poise in 2026 preseason.

Anthony Richardson has shown noticeable improvement in his 2026 preseason film, particularly in making short throws look easier with a more relaxed throwing motion on speed outs and corner routes; his footwork is more calm on certain plays, and he demonstrated high-level QB play by recognizing Cover Zero, adjusting protection by bringing in a TE to block, signaling receivers to run a zero beater, and mitigating a bad snap without panicking to complete the flat route on time—plays that weren't happening in Year 1 or 2.
