STACKED’s take
Ertz could return to Eagles to fill tight end void; recovery nearing nine months.
Zach Ertz has a chance to fill the Eagles' void at tight end with a potential return on the table, according to league sources. The 35-year-old is nearing the nine-month mark of recovery from a knee injury suffered on Dec. 7, and Ertz would welcome a return to the Eagles for his 14th season. The Eagles' tight end room feels incomplete with Eli Stowers struggling in training camp and dealing with a hamstring injury, E.J. Jenkins considered a bubble player despite a good summer, and Grant Calcaterra on IR missing at least the first four games. Calcaterra, despite some big moments, is not a better option than Ertz, positioning Ertz as a potential solution to the Eagles' tight end depth concerns.
