NeutralDepth Chart

Milton waived by Cowboys after strong preseason; fits Browns' QB profile but would displace Sanders or Green.

Milton was waived by the Dallas Cowboys after being expected to be Dak Prescott's primary backup; he led the NFC in third-down passing during the preseason (76% completion, 241 yards, 1 TD in one game as a rookie with New England; 15 of 24 passes, 63%, 1 TD, 2 INTs in four games last year with Dallas; 66 rushing yards in five career contests). With his athletic ability and big arm fitting HC Todd Monken's QB traits, the Browns' 6th waiver claim spot creates a potential acquisition window, though claiming Milton would likely force the departure of either Shedeur Sanders or Taylen Green.
