Melton is expected to be active on the 48-man gameday roster for Week 1 as the backup X receiver. His special teams contributions are critical to his roster spot: he played 185 special teams snaps in 2025 and is a gunner on punts and jammer on punt returns, which are premium special teams positions. These contributions make it very difficult for the Packers to scratch him.
