Kittle cleared for 11-on-11 drills; on track for Week 1 return nine months post-Achilles tear.

Kittle, who tore his Achilles tendon on January 11, took a massive step in his recovery this week by rejoining the team for 11-on-11 drills on Monday per GM John Lynch. He has been a visible participant since returning to practice last Sunday and was upfront about needing to put pads on and experience the physicality of the sport again to convince himself he would be ready for Week 1—a goal post he reached Monday. Less than nine months removed from his injury, Kittle appears to have a better chance of suiting up for the season opener against the Rams next Thursday in Melbourne than Nick Bosa, who got hurt four months earlier.
