When I first got into the league, it was all about, for me, learning the offense, learning myself, how I can get better and always accepting the coaching. The biggest thing for me is building trust. When we're out on the field and we're under all that heat and pressure of executing and winning games, what it comes down to is trust.

Purdy evolves into vocal leader, mentoring young players and building trust-based culture.

Purdy has evolved into a vocal leader and standard-setter for the 49ers offense at age 26, moving beyond his early-career focus on learning the system and accepting coaching. He now actively mentors young and new players, emphasizing the execution standards required for the offense to function as a cohesive unit. Purdy demonstrated these leadership qualities during training camp, frequently exhorting teammates to execute at high levels and correct mental mistakes. His leadership philosophy centers on building trust—both in his decision-making under pressure and in his teammates' execution—and he uses direct, honest feedback rooted in authentic care and love for his teammates. Purdy stated: 'The biggest thing for me is building trust. When we're out on the field and we're under all that heat and pressure of executing and winning games, what it comes down to is trust.' He emphasized that his willingness to call out teammates stems from trust and love, and that his teammates recognize and appreciate this authentic approach.
