Makai Lemon's first appearance was hardly spectacular. He caught three of his five targets for three yards, was targeted on Tanner McKee's interception, and muffed a punt late in the game... Smith will be the WR1, and Dontayvion Wicks will be the WR2.

Lemon expected to start Week 1 as WR3 despite poor preseason and hamstring injury.

First-round receiver missed most of camp with a hamstring injury and did not stand out when practicing. Preseason debut was poor: 3 catches for 3 yards on 5 targets, including a drop that led to an interception, and a muffed punt. Despite subpar performance and other receivers having better camps, Lemon was inserted back into the starting lineup upon return from injury and is expected to start Week 1 as WR3 behind Smith (WR1) and Dontayvion Wicks (WR2). Film review shows he beats press coverage and stacks defenders well but struggles with route manipulation and reading defenses at the top of routes.
