Windy City Gridiron on Caleb Williams
From the article
For MVP this season, I'm going with Caleb Williams. Homerism aside, Chicago is going to have to put up loads of points with the state of their defense. In year 2 with Ben Johnson, I'm expecting Iceman to earn the first of many MVPs in a deep playoff run.
STACKED’s take
Multiple staff members project Caleb Williams as 2026 MVP with top-10 odds and strong narrative tailwinds.
Bryan Orenchuk picks Caleb Williams for 2026 MVP, citing that Chicago will need to put up loads of points given their defense's state, and expecting him to earn his first of many MVPs in year 2 with Ben Johnson. Erik Duerrwaechter notes he's already taken a humongous leap in his second season as a pro with plenty of room for improvement, and will put everything together this year. Lester Wiltfong Jr. observes he has top-10 MVP odds and is top-3 for money coming in; if the Bears repeat in the NFC North, hype around him will be sky high. Jeff Berckes is extremely bullish on Williams, noting MVP is often a narrative award and the Bears' defense weakness will only help pad his stats. Superfans project him as the second Bear to win NFL MVP after Walter Payton in 1977.
