Fields hasn't lived up to Ohio State potential; backing up Mahomes could help.

Fields is the backup to Patrick Mahomes on the Chiefs. One oddsmaker noted that from a rating perspective, he has Fields and Gardner Minshew rated very similar, "and maybe that's doing a disservice to Fields, but he's never lived up to the potential some people thought he had out of Ohio State." The oddsmaker added that "backing up Mahomes could be the best thing ever to happen to Fields." Mahomes has historically had weaker backup QBs than many other teams, which has boosted his spread value.
