"I liked the way he's progressed coming off the knee," observed Reid. "Every day, he's gotten better and stronger. His endurance is better. He had a chance to play in the last game a few plays. I thought that was important. I think he'll be fine going into this game."

Rice cleared with no limitations after knee surgery; endurance improving daily.

Rashee Rice, the Chiefs' top wide receiver, should have no limitations heading into Week 1 despite offseason complications from a jail sentence and cleanup surgery from a 2024 knee injury. Reid noted Rice's progression: "I liked the way he's progressed coming off the knee. Every day, he's gotten better and stronger. His endurance is better. He had a chance to play in the last game a few plays. I thought that was important. I think he'll be fine going into this game." Rice was limited much of camp but played in the final preseason game.
