Sean Mannion has been handed the keys to the Eagles offense after being unemployed three years ago. He comes from offenses that do not emphasize QB runs: in Green Bay with Jordan Love (2.6 attempts per game), with Kirk Cousins on the Vikings, with Geno Smith (3.3 attempts) and Russell Wilson (3.1 attempts) on the Seahawks, and with Jared Goff on the Rams. As a player, Mannion was not a runner. The Eagles are putting significant faith in Mannion and a coaching staff with only 11 combined seasons of experience as position coaches, pass/run game coordinators, or offensive coordinators. Key questions include whether Mannion will get Jalen Hurts to run more, whether the offense will show complexity (motion, tempo, spreading the ball), and how much rope Nick Sirianni will give him if the offense struggles.
