Purdy told media he is prepared to run more this season if needed, stating 'I'm never going to be a 4.4 guy, 4.5 guy. The thing I pride myself on is moving quickly, moving the chains when I need 10, 12 yards.' The Rams ran the fourth-lowest man coverage rate in the NFL last season (15%) and run a 2-high shell above league average, providing running lanes for Purdy. In Week 3 of 2024 against the Rams, Purdy had 10 carries for 41 yards with a long of 10. His innate ability to feel the rush and avoid sacks (only Bo Nix had a lower sack percentage last season) could be the deciding factor in a close game.
