Goedert scored twice in Week 1 against Washington, both on throws over the middle from Hurts. One scoring strike came on a 43-yard catch-and-run touchdown in the fourth quarter, preceded by a 22-yard Hurts scramble on third-and-18. Both of Goedert's scoring strikes were over the middle, an area where Hurts had been criticized for reluctance in the past.
