Now that Stribling has a sprained deltoid ligament and is expected to miss at least a month, Samuel is likely to play a prominent role in a very good San Francisco offense for the foreseeable future. Samuel had six catches for 48 yards and a touchdown on seven targets in the 49ers' 27-7 Week 1 win over the Rams in Australia.

Stribling's month-long injury elevates Samuel to prominent role in elite SF offense.

Samuel had 72 catches for Washington last season and finished WR25 in PPR scoring, but was only 48% rostered due to enthusiasm for rookie De'Zhaun Stribling. With Stribling sidelined by a sprained deltoid ligament expected to miss at least a month, Samuel is likely to play a prominent role in the 49ers' very good offense. In Week 1, Samuel had six catches for 48 yards and a touchdown on seven targets, plus 12 rushing yards and 74 yards on kickoff returns. Shanahan has used Samuel as a runner extensively (1,143 rushing yards and 20 touchdown runs over his first six seasons with SF) and may use him as part of McCaffrey's workload preservation plan.
