Rush's limited prep and back spasms led to abjectly bad Week 1; needs dramatic improvement.

Rush was described as 'abjectly bad' in his Week 1 start, having been a career backup without a job until training camp, with extremely limited first-team reps and dealing with back spasms on Saturday. He completed one sharp screen pass to Robinson and a nice intermediate throw to Dotson but otherwise missed deep shots, threw wide on short passes, and threw two ugly interceptions alongside four tipped and batted passes. Nick Folk notes that if the Falcons have to go back to him in Week 2, he'll need to be 'light years better' to give the team a fighting chance.
