It was a strong day from Jared Goff, and while it was only modest statistically, it would look a lot better had he not dealt with some drops. He also deserves some credit for avoiding negative plays (zero turnovers, one sack).

Strong Week 1 performance with zero turnovers and one sack; modest statistics were held back by receiver drops rather than quarterback execution. Goff deserves credit for grip strength on a near-sack fumble that was correctly ruled incomplete, and some of the drops attributed to receivers were actually the result of less-than-ideal ball placement on outside routes.
