Irving's elite touch and target rates in scoring situations suggest bigger days ahead.
Irving's Week 1 output (8 carries, 1 TD) masks a more sustainable picture. He led all Tampa Bay RBs in Rush Share (61.5%, 1st) and Target Rate (25.9%, 1st among all TB pass-catchers), and owned 100% of Green-Zone Touch Rate. After Rachaad White's departure and a healthy offseason, his starting job was secure, but the fragility of other workload components warranted a price drop. Gainwell, considered a direct threat after securing 16% share in Pittsburgh last year, ran about half as many routes and earned just one target. Only Irving got the ball in scoring position, suggesting his workload will look more like his rookie season going forward.
