Derek Brown attributes the pitiful performance to Bo Nix playing terribly and Davis Webb's playcalling struggles, not Waddle himself. The entire Denver offense was on life support. Week 2 against Jacksonville (who utilized two high with 56.7% of defensive snaps) presents a potential bounce-back opportunity; Waddle had a 21% target-per-route run rate and 1.87 YPRR against two high in 2024-2025. However, Jacksonville allowed the third-fewest yards per target and second-fewest fantasy points per target to slot receivers, so a massive stat line is not expected.
