Monangai logged two explosive plays in Week 1: a 61-yard TD run up the middle in Q3 and a 14-yard run over left guard in Q4, both of which led to touchdowns. On the 61-yard TD, Monangai cut off a block from Kalif Raymond at the point of attack and raced to the end zone with support blocks from Luther Burden and Jahdae Walker. On the 14-yard run, Monangai showed excellent vision to cut back to the middle after Darnell Wright collapsed the left side, getting first contact around 9 yards downfield before bouncing off and carrying a defender for additional yards.
