Kittle was the second-most featured player in the 49ers' dash motion scheme in Week 1, and coined the nickname 'Dash Bros' for the strategy. Kittle acknowledged the effectiveness of the motion-heavy approach despite his personal preference for traditional blocking: 'They're not my favorite, but they're very effective. So I just put my pride aside and just do them. I just don't like cutting and running that much. I like lining up and hitting people in the face.'
