Willis posted a -0.35 EPA per play against the Raiders, struggling with receiver trust, defensive processing, or both; he was sacked five times (all in 11 personnel), completed only 2-of-7 for 18 yards in 21 personnel, and performed best between 10–20 yards downfield. He scrambled on 13.5% of dropbacks (compared to Purdy's 5.5%), holding the ball and waiting to extend plays; he ran for 39 yards with 28 after contact. While he is a rushing threat, the 49ers' pass rush should exploit his tendency to hold the ball and his reliance on scrambling.
