Hogs Haven on Marcus Mariota

Mariota confirmed as Week 3 starter; reliable bridge QB with 15 games of Commanders experience.

Marcus Mariota will start the pivotal Week 3 home game against the Seattle Seahawks and will likely play in additional games beyond that; he has been with Washington since 2024 and has appeared in 15 regular season games, starting eight last season with a 2-6 record. The source, who worked with Mariota in Atlanta in 2022, characterizes him as a great locker-room leader and a guy who can secure a series of wins while a starter recovers, though not a long-term solution for an entire season.
