Winston takes over as starter; team voted him captain and expects seamless transition.

Jameis Winston will take over as the Giants' starting quarterback for the foreseeable future after Jaxson Dart's season-ending knee injury. The Giants signed Winston to a two-year, $13 million contract extension just weeks ago, signaling confidence in him as the backup. Safety Jevon Holland stated the team loves Winston and voted him captain, saying 'Jameis is going to do a phenomenal job when he steps in there. He's been leading us in multiple ways already, so it's not uncommon. It's not like a new voice or anything like that, so I think it will fit swimmingly.'
