Bengals' defensive upgrade reduces Burrow's playmaking burden and injury risk.

The Bengals' defensive improvement—ranking 16th in yards allowed and 8th in scoring defense through two weeks after ranking 31st and 30th respectively last season—is designed to reduce Burrow's burden. Burrow acknowledged this shift after the Texans win, saying 'You just play a little more conservative. Those guys have been great. When you have that rush and that coverage, you try not to mess it up.' The source notes this formula should increase the chances Burrow finishes the season healthy, as he has missed at least six games in three of his six prior seasons.
