Fantasy Life Articles on DK Metcalf
From the article
Michael Pittman Jr. sat out Week 2 with a foot injury. You'd think more targets would consolidate around Metcalf, but his target rate remained unchanged. Metcalf's catchable-target rate got worse. Cincinnati has been limiting perimeter receivers to start the season.
STACKED’s take
Metcalf's declining efficiency and archetype mismatch face Bengals' elite perimeter coverage.
Metcalf should be avoided in Week 3 against the Bengals despite Michael Pittman Jr.'s absence. His target rate remained unchanged in Week 2 despite Pittman sitting out with a foot injury, while his average depth of target fell by two-thirds and his catchable-target rate worsened. The Steelers made no move to add slot reps or get him the ball in space; instead, Roman Wilson and Ben Skowronek received those opportunities. The Bengals' defense is particularly problematic for Metcalf's archetype: they rank 8th in passing yards per game allowed to outside WRs, 10th in defensive EPA per play, and 14th in passing success rate, effectively limiting perimeter receivers.
