wideout Alec Pierce, as expected and reported earlier in the week, has been placed on injured reserve—which means he'll miss at minimum, the team's next four games. Pierce re-injured the ankle/heel in the late first quarterback last Sunday night against the Kansas City Chiefs. He was unable to place his body weight on his latest injury and went to the medical blue tent along the sidelines, before being carted off the field. Pierce was seen post-game in a medical boot and on crutches. Even though Pierce could theoretically return as soon as Week 6, the initial reports were that a return could realistically be closer to midseason, which could mean closer to Week 8 or 9.
